What possible use could this app serve, you might ask? None, I tell you. None whatsoever. On the other hand, I had a lot of fun, and a good laugh or two designing a Leaping Gnome Dance.
The Elmore Dance Club is the latest application from the Jackson Fish Market, a company that builds these beautiful, strange web destinations. I first heard of them when their application “They’re Beautiful” was released. They’re Beautiful is a virtual flower shop where you can build unique bouquets and send them to people to keep in their own little virtual greenhouse.
I like the quirky style of the two applications, and I’m interested in the other aspect of their site, where they offer up their services to build custom web applications for companies. So far there are a couple of custom apps showcased on the site, one being a carbon reduction thingy built for Microsoft to be used only on IE7. Guess I won’t be checking that one out any time soon. The 20k a month pricetag for having your brand added (artfully) to one of their applications seems a little steep for a library (or library organization) to invest in,too.
